I’d sent off a couple of job applications and this week I’ve had an interview for a games position. This was somewhat unexpected since my portfolio isn’t the strongest at the moment but took the opportunity to find out more. It was a great experience and good to get a brief glimpse at life inside a games company.

Although unsuccessful, I received some fantastic detailed feedback which was more than I expected and gave me a lot more focus and direction in to what was required for a games role, in particular management software, version control and small, self-contained games.

This therefore is the next step in this journey, looking at 3d maths concepts through looking at tutorials and the HandMadeHero series, GitHub to manage my version control, Asana to manage my projects, with the aim of making some mini-games that allow me to show off my skills.
